Women only are invited to Body Language on Sunday, December 12, from 10 am to 12 noon. A special two hours for women to browse and shop for videos, magazines, books, leather and other novelties or just socialize.
K.J. Dennert will entertain with a little "morning" music and Beth will run the register. The "guys" won't be around. Body Language, in its effort to increase merchandise for women, has stocked many new items recommended by female customers.
The store is located at 3291 W. 115th St., just north of Lorain Ave; phone 251-3330.
Twenty-something is here. You asked for it, you got it! Finally, a social, educational, discussion group just for the twenty-something crowd. If you're between the ages of 18 and 29 and looking for something new and exciting to do on Friday evenings between 8 and 10 pm, give the excuses a rest and give this a try. Members come from as far away as Kent, Akron, Lorain and Lima.
Gay, lesbian, bisexual, new to gay life, or unsure... Welcome!
Meet at the Lesbian Gay Community Service Center, 1418 W. 29th St. (just south of Detroit Ave.), in Cleveland. Friday evenings, starting at 8.
Spruce up that spruce. Christmas tree decorations with a gay touch are available locally. The "Miracles Happen” glass Christmas ornament for 1993 has an AIDS ribbon suspended inside. The decoration serves as a fundraiser for the American Foundation for AIDS Research (AmFAR).
"Freedom Lights," the world's first "queer Christmas lights," have sold out both locally and nationally, according to Mike Bole, the Cleveland distributor for both items. The 35-light sets, which have six rainbow colors, including purple and orange, instead of the usual four, will be available again next year.
The Miracles Happen ornament is still available now. Each ornament is $10, plus 98¢ shipping. Make check payable to Michael Bole, P.O. Box 620045, Cleveland, OH 44102-9045. Or call 631-5266 between noon and 8 pm for pick-up to save shipping.
Windsong Womyn's Ensemble seeks singers. The Windsong Womyn's Ensemble rehearses every Sunday at Gifts of Athena Bookstore from 3:30 to 5:30 pm. All women who enjoy singing are invited to join. No audition is required; only a willingness to practice and the enjoyment of singing with other women.
The Ensemble sings a variety of music from women, Broadway shows, to original compositions by its members. The group will perform at the 19th Annual Womyn's Variety Show. The Ensemble also plans to present a spring concert and is building a repertoire.
The Windsong Womyn's Ensemble has a new director this season, Diane Hobus. An accomplished pianist, composer and conductor, she was the winner of the 1992

Indispensable for couples. A new booklet and a humorous holiday video from Partners Task Force for Gay & Lesbian Couples offer informative and empowering messages for same-sex partners.
An Indispensable Guide for Gay & Lesbian Couples answers the most common questions addressed to the Partners organization since it was founded in 1986, with chapters devoted to validation, family life, getting support, legal precautions, marriage, sex and domestic partnership. Sprinkled throughout are powerful quotations and images that affirm same-sex partners. It includes resources for couples and a list of books, tapes and films. It has become popular among same-sex couples, libraries, counselors, parents of gay and lesbian children, and religious leaders who prepare couples for commitment ceremonies.
The Fight Before Christmas is a video rich in family values yet horrifying to right-wing extremists. It's a warm, humorous look at a problem common to many same-sex couples-the failure of blood relatives to recognize the relationship. The story is of Bill and his partner Bruce whose mom visits every Christmas dressed as Santa Claus. Bruce pretends she's Santa; she pretends her son is straight. The couple have a terrible row when Bruce won't tell his mom that Bill is far more than a roommate. Through it all, three gay angels sing a narration. The musical score has been performed by gay choruses across the country and the video won a national independent work award this year.
The Indispensable Guide is available for $10.50; The Fight video (VHS, stereo, 20 min.) is $24. You can order by check, Visa or MasterCard from Partners, Box 9685, Seattle, WA 98109-0685; phone 206935-1206. ♡
